COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 22,1996 among the City Council every Council Member will get calls from various people and pressured to disclose how each Member voted. Council Member Lyden said that everyone trusts Mr. Hawkins and asked if he needed a second person to tabulate the votes. Mayor Landers said that the City Council should trust Mr. Hawkins with the vote tabulation. Council Member Kuether said that this is getting ridiculous. All Council Members were asked to place the names of persons they voted for on the second ballot and give their ballots to Mr. Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins will tabulate the vote and announce the decision later in this meeting. OLD BUSINESS There was no old business. NEW BUSINESS Consideration of the Resignation of John Hanson, Public Works Department - Mr. Schumacher explained that Mr. Hanson has submitted a letter of resignation and the City Council needs to accept the letter of resignation. Staff will come back to the City Council at a later date and talk about the replacement of Mr. Hanson. Mr. Hanson will be working for the City of White Bear Lake. Mr. Ahrens said that he did talk to Mr. Hanson and the position at White Bear Lake is a step up for him and there is more opportunity for him with better pay. Mr. Ahrens will have a recommendation for this position and have a replacement by mid -summer. Council Member Kuether moved to accept Mr. Hanson's resignation and directed Mr. Ahrens to wish him well. Council Member Bergeson seconded the motion. Motion carried. Consideration of Minutes, April 8, 1996 - Council Member Neal moved to approve the minutes as presented. Council Member Lyden seconded the motion. Motion carried with Mayor Landers and Council Member Kuether abstaining. Consideration of Minutes, April 15, 1996 - Council Member Kuether moved to approve the minutes as presented. Council Member Bergeson seconded the motion. Motion carried with Council Member Lyden abstaining.
