• <br />• <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION AUGUST 21, 1996 <br />TRUTH IN TAXATION PUBLIC HEARING DATES, RANDY SCHUMACHER <br />Staff explained that Truth in Taxation public hearings are required to be scheduled within <br />a short time frame. Both the school districts and the county boards are required to <br />establish dates for their public hearings and the municipalities can use the remaining <br />dates. The only date left for Lino Lakes to hold their public hearing is December 5, 1996. <br />Therefore, staff is proposing the following schedule: <br />1. December 5, 1996, Initial Public Hearing <br />2. December 12, 1996, Continuation of Hearing <br />3. Staff explained that the Fund contains <br />approximately $6,000,000. This money is used to fund municipal wells, water towers, <br />trunk utility extensions and other system wide improvements. The money in this fund <br />comes in the form of an assessment from developers or persons building in areas where <br />municipal water and sanitary sewer lines are available. <br />PAGE 7 <br />
