COUNCIL WORK SESSION AUGUST 21,1996 <br />SEPTEMBER 24, 1996, 9:30 A.M., ANOKA COUNTY APPRECIATION, RANDY <br />SCHUMACHER <br />The next Anoka County Board of Commissioners meeting will be held on September 24, <br />1996 at 9:30 a.m. Mr. Schumacher is proposing to formally thank the Commissioners for <br />their assistance with several projects. Mr. Schumacher will prepare a list of projects that <br />have required County assistance and a formal thank you presentation. <br />DISBURSEMENT LIST PROCESSING, RANDY SCHUMACHER <br />Recently Council has raised many questions about various disbursements appearing on <br />the Disbursement Listing presented to Council at each meeting. The questions usually <br />cannot be answered by the staff at the meeting. Payment of these items is tabled and staff <br />is directed to research the questions and bring the information to the next Council <br />meeting. This delays important scheduled payments and sometimes the delay incurs a <br />penalty or extra charge. This m be discussed at the next work session. <br />Council Member Bergeson said that he also favors an employee recognition program. <br />PAWN SHOP ORDINANCE, COUNCIL MEMBER NEAL <br />Council Member Neal asked that the City consider adopting a pawn shop ordinance. He <br />noted that if a pawnshop were to be located in the City at this time, it would take almost <br />one full-time officer to handle the investigation of items that were pawned. <br />This matter was directed to the Chief of Police and will be placed on the next work <br />session agenda. <br />PAGE 6 <br />
