COUNCIL WORK SESSION OCTOBER 9,1996 <br />CHARTER COMMISSION ROAD IMPROVEMENT DISCUSSION, DAVID <br />AHRENS <br />The Charter Commission has asked the City to prepare and take a road reconstruction <br />project through the process outlined in the City Charter to determine if that process will <br />work. <br />Staff presented a proposal for use in identifying streets in need of improvement and the <br />associated costs. Staff is planning to mail a <br />follow-up letter to these landowners to make sure that the landowners are fully informed <br />and to get additional comments from landowners. <br />Council discussed this matter and suggested that the Lake Drive/Main Street intersection <br />be omitted from the Charter improvement requirements. Mr. Wessel will speak to Mr. <br />Montain, the Charter Chairman, about this request. Mr. Wessel will also attend the <br />Charter Commission meeting tomorrow evening and suggest that the before mentioned <br />intersection be deleted from the Charter improvement provisions. <br />The Council will be updated on this matter at the next work session. <br />PAGE 4 <br />
