CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />POSITION DESCRIPTION <br />TITLE: CD Intern <br />DEPARTMENT: Community Development <br />DIVISION: Planning & Economic Development <br />SUPERVISOR: Community Development Director <br />STATUS: Part-time <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION <br />The primary objective of this position is to provide support and assistance to the Community <br />Development Department in planning and economic development initiatives for the city. This <br />position provides an opportunity for qualified applicants to expand their skills, receive valuable <br />on the job training, and assist with various economic development programs and projects within <br />the city. <br />ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS <br />The listed examples may not include all duties required of this position. Duties may vary from <br />time to time based on the needs of the city. <br />1. Assist in promoting development and marketing of the city including use of social media. <br />2. Prepare a quarterly economic development newsletter and prepare articles for the city <br />newsletter. <br />3. Provide administrative support to City Council, Planning & Zoning Board, Economic <br />Development Authority (EDA) and Economic Development Advisory Committee <br />(EDAC). <br />4. Provide technical assistance to the public in the interpretation of the city's land use regulations <br />and zoning ordinances. <br />5. Assist the Code Enforcement Officer in the enforcement of Lino Lakes Municipal Codes. <br />6. Assist in preparing agendas, background information, and minutes for EDA and EDAC <br />meetings. <br />7. Research and prepare written reports on policy issues and special projects assigned by the <br />Community Development Director. <br />8. Attend and participate in staff meetings, committee meetings, council meetings, and other <br />meetings, as necessary. <br />9. Assist in the development and implementation of the Business Retention and Expansion <br />program. <br />10. Organize ground breaking and ribbon cutting events for new business. <br />11.
