KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />1. Principles and practices of urban planning and economic development. <br />2. Basic local government practices and procedures. <br />3. Software programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher and <br />PowerPoint). <br />4. Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills. <br />5. Communicate clearly in both written and oral form. <br />6. Perform assigned tasks in an orderly and precise manner <br />7. Coordinate, organize and present research information derived from a variety of sources. <br />8. Working ability to interpret policies, directives and regulations, and implement them <br />effectively. <br />9. Exercise resourcefulness in solving problems in accordance with the established rules, <br />regulations, and policies of the city. <br />10. Work independently and/or as part of a team. <br />11. Work effectively with city employees, citizens and other governmental agencies. <br />12. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. <br />REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS <br />1. High school diploma or equivalent. <br />2. Applicants should possess, or be in the process of obtaining, a bachelor's or master's <br />degree in Urban Planning, Economic Development, Public Administration, or related <br />field. <br />3. Available to work up to 32 hours per week and occasional evening meetings. <br />4.
