COUNCIL WORK SESSION SEPTEMBER 3,1997 <br />Monday at 4:30 p.m. A proposal can be put together to take to the Park Board and the <br />Council for a final decision. <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT (CUP), MIKE KENNY, 6451 HODGSON ROAD <br />MARY KAY WYLAND <br />At the July 9th Council work session, staff was directed to send a letter to Mr. Kenny <br />asking him to attend the next work session to discuss possible violations of his CUP. A <br />certified letter was sent to Mr. Kenny, however he did not responded to the letter. <br />Staff noted that through the years, the zoning in this area of the City has changed and Mr. <br />Kenny has greatly expanded his use of the property to include landscaping. Mr. Kenny's <br />neighbors have voiced complaints about Mr. Kenny's operation for more than two (2) <br />years and nothing has happened. Mr. Kenny's neighbor was present this evening to speak <br />about Mr. Kenny's operation and ask the City again to do something about this matter. <br />Staff suggested that the City Attorney draft a letter to Mr. Kenny definin the parameter <br />of his CUP. The letter will explain that if he steps outside of his CU' - will <br />proceed with the cancellation of the CUP. The application would be considered by the Pl n • • 'A _ oard and the <br />City Council. <br />This matter will be place on the next <br />COPSMORE GRANT, D <br />Chief Pecchia a 'nee e a lied for and received a COPSMORE grant and would <br />like to start purc ai 'p computers for the squad cars. Since the Council must <br />formally acknowl ceipt of the grant, this matter will be added to the September <br />8th Council agend . <br />VEHICLE THEFT OVERTIME GRANT, DAVID PECCHIA <br />Chief Pecchia explained that he applied for and received a grant to fund overtime salaries <br />and benefits for Police Officers investigating thefts of snowmobles and automobiles. The <br />City would be required to pay salaries and benefits initially. The City then reports the <br />amount of salaries and benefits paid. These costs are refunded via the grant. <br />Acceptance of this grant was added to the September 8th Council agenda. <br />DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED PAWN SHOP ORDINANCE, DAVID PECCHIA <br />Chief Pecchia prepared a packet containing information including the City Attorney's <br />opinion on a proposed pawn shop ordinance.
