COUNCIL WORK SESSION OCTOBER 8, 1997 <br />staff and the Fire District personnel are completely prepared in the event of a fire, escape <br />or a riot in the prison. <br />Mr. Schumacher suggested that the Council get the Lino Lakes representatives in the <br />State Legislature involved so that the City will immediately be made aware of a <br />"situation" at the prison and if any Lino Lakes personnel are needed, the State pay those <br />salaries and benefits. <br />REGULAR AGENDA <br />SECOND READING, Ordinance No. 21- 97, Adopting an Automated Pawn System <br />Ordinance - Chief Pecchia noted that this ordinance had its FIRST READING at the <br />September 22nd. Council meeting. The ordinance is currently under review by the City <br />Attorney. The investigation fee and the license fee has been removed from the ordinance. <br />These fees will be decided by resolution. <br />Providing the ordinance is acceptable to the City Attorney, staff will include the <br />SECOND READING on the October 13th Council agenda. <br />DISCUSSION OF INSURANCE BENEFITS, MARY <br />Ms. Vaske explained that staff was asked to prion the City Council <br />regarding insurance coverage for retired e is el c - has several concerns and <br />asked if this matter could be delayed .i . of the year to allow him time to <br />review a couple of issues and i ! , • . ss ity of a cafeteria plan. Mr. Tesch is <br />also seeking information o' ' esources person at the City of Shoreview. <br />They may have a plan all amount of "tweaking" could be used in this City. <br />Staff was directeCouncil Member Bergeson on this matter and if he has no <br />concerns, the mat i s e placed on the next work session agenda. <br />ANOKA COUNTY HRA MEETING, OCTOBER 15, 1997, 7:00 P.M., SPRING <br />LAKE PARK CITY HALL <br />This matter was placed on the agenda to remind Council Members of the meeting in the <br />event that anyone wishes to attend. Anoka County is considering a new reallocation <br />system. <br />Council will be updated when further information is available. <br />LAKE DRIVE TRUNK UTILITY UPDATE, DAVID AHRENS <br />Mr. Ahrens briefly updated Council on this project. He will be holding a neighborhood <br />meeting with all affected property owners and will be asking Council at their October <br />27th. meeting to order the project. <br />PAGE 4 <br />
