COUNCIL WORK SESSION NOVEMBER 19, 1997 <br />Mr. Tesch was instructed to determine cost figures for each option and bring them to the <br />next work session. <br />DISCUSSION OF ANNUAL APPOINTMENTS, DAN TESCH <br />Mr. Tesch presented a list of boards, committees and miscellaneous positions that will <br />require Council appointments for the 1998 terms. The list was reviewed and Mr. Tesch <br />was directed to advertise these positions in the Quad Press, the City Newsletter and on <br />cable Channel 16. <br />DISCUSS WATER SUPPLY PLAN, DAVID AHRENS <br />Mr. Ahrens explained that the City adopted a Water Supply Plan this past August. The <br />DNR has reviewed the Plan and is requiring that additional usage reduction measures be <br />implemented. Several suggestions were discussed including structuring user rates to <br />encourage user reduction and lawn sprinkling bans. Other options were also discussed. <br />Mr. Ahrens will gather additional information for Council to c i F and r= ing this <br />matter back to a work session. <br />LAKE DRIVE TRUNK UTILITY UPDATE, DA <br />Mr. Ahrens explained that he held a neighbor <br />affected by the proposed Lake Drive T, <br />outlined the boundaries of the pro <br />property owner. <br />No action was required <br />ting with residents in the area <br />ect about two (2) weeks ago. He <br />how the project would affect each <br />METROPOLITA -� IL, CENTERVILLE SANITARY SEWER <br />INTERCEPTOR <br />S, DAVID AHRENS <br />This interceptor line is a Metropolitan Council facility that was constructed to serve the <br />Centerville area. Mr. Ahrens showed the location of the line on a map. <br />Because this interceptor line is experiencing a capacity problem, Metropolitan Council is <br />proposing to construct a larger line. Mr. Ahrens outlined three (3) possible locations for <br />the new line and indicated option No. 2 made the most sense to him. This location would <br />allow greater flexibility for development in this City. Mr. Ahrens also indicated that Mr. <br />Gerald Rehbein is interested in developing his property on the west side of I -35E and <br />Main Street. A larger interceptor line would be needed for his development. <br />Mr. Ahrens was directed to send a letter to Metropolitan Council engineers indicating that <br />the City prefers implementation of Option No. 2. <br />PAGE 2 <br />
