COUNCIL WORK SESSION DECEMBER 3,1997 <br />This matter will be brought back to the next Council work session. <br />CONSIDERATION OF CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT COMPANY FOR <br />PUBLIC FACILITIES, RANDY SCHUMACHER <br />The City has solicited proposals from construction management companies for the <br />construction of the civic complex. Three (3) proposals were received. A committee <br />consisting of Mr. Schumacher, Chief Pecchia and Mr. Wessel reviewed the three (3) <br />proposals with each company representative. Staff is looking for a company with a <br />significant amount of experience. <br />Council noted that one of the proposals was from Mortenson and asked if there is any <br />association between Mortenson and any Council Member or staff member. Mr. Wessel <br />explained his past association with Mortenson and that there is no financial association at <br />this time. <br />Council Member Lyden asked why a construction managemen 'TIR needed. <br />Council Member Bergeson explained that Bethel College cction projects <br />with and without a construction manager. She was directed to draft a <br />revision of that section of the Sign Ordinance. Council Members were also asked to <br />outline their concerns and suggestions and give them to Ms. Anderson. <br />Ms. Anderson presented a draft of the campaign sign portion of the Sign Ordinance to the <br />Council and asked that Council review the draft.
