COUNCIL MINUTES DECEMBER 8, 1997 <br />Eugene Lane, 532 77th Street, echoed the sentiments of those who spoke before him regarding <br />Agenda Item No. 9. He added that he would like to hear reasons why any Council members are <br />in favor of the City Administrator's revised employment agreement, as his attorney would like to <br />hear them. <br />Sharon Lane, 532 77th Street, expressed her disappointment in Council's handling of Agenda <br />Item No. 9. <br />Chris LeMire, 7144 Whippoorwill Lane, expressed agreement with those who had spoken <br />previously regarding Agenda Item No. 9. He added that Council's actions constituted a direct act <br />of defiance and treachery toward the Mayor elect. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE UPDATE, MARTY ASLESON AND <br />MAUREEN DAVIDSON <br />Maureen Davidson, on behalf of the Lino Lakes Environmental Affairs Committee, presented an <br />annual report on Committee activities. She provided the following information: <br />I. Accomplishments <br />A. Completed environmental education sessions <br />B. Completed by-laws and submitted to Council for review and approval <br />C. Accepted and reviewed report from University of Minnesota students on Sewer <br />District 5 Project <br />D. Sponsored Earth Day booth that included a drawing for Carroll Henderson's books <br />on backyard landscaping and bird feeding <br />E. Interviewed several professional groups about doing a Natural Resources Inventory <br />F. Sent two delegates to the DNR conference "Keeping Nature in Your Neighborhood" <br />G. Compiled list of available grant money <br />H. Applied for grant from OEM to help pay for Natural Resources Inventory <br />II. Goals for 1998 <br />A. Oversee the hiring of a professional consultant to complete the Lino Lakes Natural <br />Resources Inventory <br />1. RFP responses are back and being reviewed by EAC members over the <br />Holidays. <br />2. RFP responses will be discussed at EAC meeting on January 7, 1998 <br />3. Interviews will begin late January and go into February, 1998 <br />4. If OEM grant is received, inventory work will begin around May 1, 1998 <br />4 <br />
