COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 22, 1997 <br />of the trails that coincide with the construction of the Centennial Middle School. <br />Matching funding should not be a concern in this area. <br />Council thanked Mr. Asleson for his effort to secure a grant. <br />CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE (CAG), J. P. HOUCHINS <br />Mr. Houchins explained that the terms of five (5) committee members have expired and <br />two (2) other members have decided to retire from the committee. He asked the Council <br />to appoint seven (7) members to the committee. <br />Mr. Houchins noted that for the past several months, the committee has been preparing a <br />status report. The report will be given to Council when it is completed. <br />The appointment of new members will be added to the January 27th <br />UPDATE, ORGANIZED COLLECTION, JACKIE CO j <br />Meetings have been held with Braun Intertec. A ss ary th hgs will be <br />presented at the next Council work session. <br />DISCUSSION OF SITE PLAN REVIE , IN ., DAVID AHRENS <br />Nextel has applied for apermit tos on the City water towers. Buildings <br />to house components of n d at the base of the tower. The Council <br />discussed this matter at the irk ion and asked for further information. <br />Staff has discusse <br />tter F Nextell and they have decided to build the storage <br />units in the -. of water tower. <br />Staff noted re `•" est has been received to place antennas on the water tower under <br />construction ` .t of1-35E. The storage buildings needed to support the antennas will be <br />constructed in the base of the tower. City equipment will also be stored in this area. <br />Council asked where antenna rental funds will be used. Staff suggested that a separate <br />fund be established and the funds be designated. <br />Council asked staff to prepare a list of equipment that is presently stored at the water <br />tower west of1-35W. <br />DISCUSSION OF OTTER LAKE SERVICE ROAD, STREET AND UTILITY <br />IMPROVEMENTS, DAVID AHRENS <br />Mr. Ahrens explained that he has prepared resolutions ordering this improvement and <br />ordering preparation of plans and specifications for the construction of the new roadway. <br />PAGE 4 <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />
