COUNCIL MINUTES FEBRUARY 24, 1997 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />MINUTES <br />DATE : February 24, 1997 <br />TIME STARTED : 6:34 P.M. <br />TIME ENDED : 8:08 P.M. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT : Bergeson, Kuether, Landers, Lyden, Neal <br />MEMBERS ABSENT : None <br />Staff members present: City Administrator, Randy Schumacher; Police Chief, David Pecchia; <br />Fire Chief, Milo Bennett; Community Development Director, Brian Wessel; City Engineer, <br />David Ahrens; City Attorney, Bill Hawkins; Planning Coordinator, Mary Kay Wyland; Planning <br />Consultant, Al Brixius; Recycling Coordinator, Jackie Constant; Parks and Recreation Director, <br />Marty Asleson; Consulting Attorney, Barry Sullivan and Clerk -Treasurer, Marilyn Anderson. <br />Mayor Landers requested the agenda be revised to consider Item 7A, Comprehensive Plan <br />Amendment to Provide MUSA Designation for Century Farms Development, North Side of <br />Lilac Street, after Item 4, Consideration of Grant Officers, Chief Pecchia. The agenda was <br />approved as amended. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Council Member Kuether asked about the mileage claim of $195 for administration. Mr. <br />Schumacher clarified this claim includes both mileage and the conference fees. <br />Council Member Kuether asked about the definition of the $1,350 claim for "planning services" <br />for the EDA. Mr. Wessel explained the claim from Northwest Associates is split into several <br />categories; review of the Comprehensive Plan and budget, and planning and zoning items. He <br />advised the claim under question is for planning services for the Planning & Zoning Board. <br />Council Member Kuether inquired regarding the $440 claim for ditch cleaning. Mr. Ahrens <br />stated it is not actual ditch cleaning but, rather, for ditch engineering services for the LaMotte <br />ditch. <br />Council Member Neal noted that work was done last summer. Mr. Ahrens explained there are <br />on-going discussions about the possibly of placing additional fill in the ditch. Also, more <br />information has been sent to SEH for further review.. <br />• Council Member Kuether moved to approve the consent agenda. Council Member Neal <br />seconded the motion.
