• <br />• <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION MARCH 5, 1997 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />MINUTES <br />DATE March 5, 1997 <br />TIME STARTED 5:00 p.m. <br />TIME ENDED 8:05 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT Council Members Bergeson, Kuether, Neal and <br />Mayor Landers <br />MEMBERS ABSENT Council Member Lyden <br />Staff members present: City Engineer, David Ahrens; Finance Director, Mary Vaske; <br />Assistant to the City Administrator, Dan Tesch; Parks and Recreation Director, Marty <br />Asleson, Parks and Recreation Coordinator, Barry Bernstein; Community Development <br />Director, Brian Wessel and Clerk -Treasurer Marilyn Anderson. <br />INTERVIEW CANDIDATES FOR VARIOUS CITY BO <br />COMMITTEES <br />The Council interviewed three (3) candidates, t <br />and one for the Park Board. <br />DISCUSSION OF A WELLNES <br />t 1" g and Zoning Board <br />Y BERNSTEIN <br />A questionnaire was sent t h ty : oyees and 23 responses were received. <br />Twenty-two (22) empl. e me ed in joining the program and one employee <br />was not intereste i f the program and its four (4) components was presented <br />to the Council. <br />The next st cil approves the wellness plan, is to have all interested <br />employees € s us evaluated. North Fitness Center will come to city hall and <br />perform the uations. Council directed staff to contact both the City Attorney and the <br />insurance agency to determine if the City will incur any liability with the establishment of <br />the program. <br />Staff explained one purpose of the program is to catch or prevent an accident or illness <br />before it prevents an employee from performing their job duties. <br />DISCUSSION OF FINANCE DEPARTMENT RE -ORGANIZATION AND THE <br />STATUS OF THE ACCOUNTANT, PAULA SCHLOER, MARY VASKE <br />Ms. Schloer has expressed the desire to work part-time. Staff is recommending that she <br />become a part-time employee as she requested and that another part-time person be hired <br />at a lower salary to perform specific duties that will be described when the department is <br />reorganized. <br />PAGE 1 <br />
