Staff is recommending that <br />Council address this matter as soon as possible so that the new Ordinance can be adopted <br />by July 1, 1997 because the solid waste haulers licenses will expire on June 30th. <br />Council reviewed the proposed ordinance in detail. Some provisions include: <br />- increased insurance limits <br />- a 10 day cancellation notice was included <br />- haulers will be asked to bid on a three (3) year and a five (5) contract to determine if <br />there is any cost benefits to the resident <br />- hours of operation are to be consistent with other cities otherwise costs will increase <br />- restriction on the number of trucks in the City <br />PAGE 1 <br />
