COUNCIL WORK SESSION APRIL 9,1997 <br />- recycling included in contract <br />- an indemnification clause be added to insure the City does not get sued in case the <br />hauler is sued <br />,- City will collect fees from residents and then pay the hauler <br />- include language regarding a container <br />The Ordinance will be updated and placed on the April 14th Council agenda <br />EARTH DAY UPDATE, JACKIE CONSTANT <br />Plans for the Earth Day celebration are complete. Over 600 hundred volunteers will be <br />working in the quad cities to clean roadways and participate in other activities. An Earth <br />Day Proclamation is on the April 14th Council agenda. <br />TRASH GUARD ON DITCH #10, ALAN ROBINSON <br />Mr. Robinson called Council Member Kuether to let her know that the tr sh guard on <br />ditch #22 in the area of Apollo Drive is filled with debris and has pl _ ditch. He <br />asked that the trash guard be removed. <br />Mr. Schumacher noted that the City is currently in lit' io wi o . inson because <br />of a flooding problem apparently caused by the z�z o do taff is checking to see <br />that the debris is removed each day. Mr. ' •bi w n the audience, noted that if <br />the trash is not removed he will be fled that if the area gets a particular <br />heavy rainfall, he will be floode' - s .0 .ng this ditch do not have trash <br />guards. No <br />one knew the answer t <br />The ditch will co =ti. s e monitored and Mr. Schumacher will provide an update at <br />the Council meets onday. <br />RECONSIDERATION OF ACCAP REQUEST, HOUSE MOVE -IN PURCHASE <br />LOT FROM THE CITY, MARY KAY WYLAND/BRIAN WESSEL <br />Staff presented this matter at the last Council work session and was directed to prepare <br />cost estimates involved in selling the lot. The estimates were presented to Council. <br />After discussion about the assessment cost that would be submitted to the City of Blaine, <br />Council determined that a sale price of $10,000 was needed to cover all costs. <br />This matter will be on the April 14, 1997 Council agenda. <br />PAGE 2 <br />
