• <br />• <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION MAY 21,1997 <br />Mr. Wessel noted that in the future when the on/off ramps are constructed at I-35W/Main <br />Street, the land under the current city hall may become valuable commercial land. <br />Staff was directed to prepare a financing plan for the civic buildings. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNUAL REPORT, CHIEF PECCHIA <br />Chief Pecchia outline the 1996 Police Department report. Council asked Chief Pecchia to <br />include in his report the impact of the rate of growth in the City. <br />This item is on the Council agenda for May 27th. <br />Chief Pecchia was asked if he will include a helicopter pad on or near the new Police <br />Department building. Chief Pecchia explained that the Police Department would use the <br />Lino Air Park runway if a helicopter was needed. <br />CONSIDER HIRING THREE (3) POLICE OFFICERS, CHIE �, A <br />Chief Pecchia outlined a proposal to hire three (3) police <br />compiled when the last police officer was hired. This item will be on the June 9th Council agenda. <br />CONSIDERATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 12 - 97, SIGN ORDINANCE <br />REVISION, MARY KAY WYLAND <br />Ms. Wyland noted that this ordinance is currently being typed. The Council will receive a <br />draft copy on May 30th and the first reading will be on the June 9th Council agenda. All <br />changes to this ordinance will he highlighted. <br />Ms. Wyland noted that the Planning and Zoning Board is currently working on a <br />recreational vehicle ordinance and an antenna ordinance. <br />PAGE 3 <br />
