COUNCIL WORK SESSION JUNE 4, 1997
• finds that there is nothing in the Charter that prohibits reconstruction of City roads.
However, the Charter does not provide a funding mechanism for these projects.
•
The Charter Commission sub -committee is recommending that the City Engineer prepare
a list of streets that need reconstruction and prioritize the list. The City Council will order
the improvement of the first street on the project list to be funded by a combination of
assessments to the benefited property owners and funding by the City. Once the project is
ordered, the project will be placed on the November municipal election ballot for
consideration by the voters of the City. If the voters approve the road improvement, the
project will be constructed in 1998. If the voters reject the project, the Charter
Commission will consider other methods of funding road reconstruction projects.
Council expressed support of this proposal.
The Charter Commission sub -committee will meet with the entire C ' ission
on July 11th and let them know that the Council is supportive of ation.
Council asked that the Charter Commission help the Counci ato on this
matter.
A joint Charter Commission/City Council meets d la this summer.
CONSIDER AGREEMENT FOR REC L S RVICES FOR THE CITY
OF CIRCLE PINES RANDY S
Staff outlined the agreeme on vices between the City of Lino Lakes and
the City of Circle Pine d th $r lthough the City of Centerville and the City of
Lexington wante + of this agreement, there was not enough time to include
them thisear.
