COUNCIL WORK SESSION JUNE 4,1997 <br />the resident who currently needs service and allow the second property owner to relocate <br />his septic system, and 3) allow the resident without sufficient upland to relocate his septic <br />system to extend sanitary sewer service across his lot from Apollo Drive. <br />It was noted that the property on which the septic system cannot be relocated contains a <br />ditch that collects ground water from this area. Council asked if the ditch could be <br />improved so that the ground water would be lowered enough to permit the construction of <br />a mound system. Staff will determine if the current ditch can be improved to allow the <br />mound system. <br />Staff will also investigate the feasibility of a small project to provide service to the two <br />(2) properties, review the inspection reports for the Apollo Drive utility improvement <br />project and meet with area residents to determine if they are interested in connecting to <br />sanitary sewer. <br />DISCUSS LAKE DRIVE UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS, DA <br />Staff updated the Council regarding a proposed improve <br />sanitary sewer and municipal water utility services rth <br />boundary of the City, Pine Street. <br />Council directed staff to prepare a schedule <br />owners along Lake Drive. The first phase would <br />begin at Bir ree and end at 62nd Street. The second phase would begin at 62nd <br />Street and en t Ash Street. <br />Staff did not recommend a phasing plan and asked Council to order the entire project be <br />completed at the same time in the same year. It was suggested that Ware Road residents <br />may be angry if their street is under construction for two (2) years. <br />Council directed this improvement project be completed as one project. <br />CONSIDER CHARTER COMMISSION SUB -COMMITTEE REPORT ON ROAD <br />CONSTRUCTION, DON DUNN <br />Mr. Dunn and Mr. Alvin DeMotts, another Charter Committee member, have held four <br />(4) meetings with their sub -committee to research methods of developing a road <br />reconstruction fund.
