• SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING JULY 28, 1997 DATE TIME STARTED TIME ENDED MEMBERS PRESENT MEMBERS ABSENT CITY OF LINO LAKES MINUTES July 28, 1997 5:40 p.m. 6:20 p.m. • Council Members Bergeson, Kuether, Lyden and Neal and Mayor Landers None Staff members present: Assistant to the City Administrator, Dan Tesch; Solid Waste Coordinator, Jackie Constant and Clerk -Treasurer Marilyn Anderson. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the advisory boards and committees. Environmental Committee Mr. Tesch explained what this committee proposes to do and their charge. They have researched environmental commi the process of preparing a description of their duties. land use proposals and insure compliance with part of and are in nclude reviewing finance. Council discusse tis committee report directly to the Planning and Zoning Board so that whe he Planning and Zoning Board makes its recommendation to Council, the Environmental Committee recommendations will be included in their report. Council suggested directing the Environmental Committee to complete the Natural Resources Inventory. The Inventory will be used in completing the Comprehensive Plan update and can be used to develop environmental based plats. Council discussed compensation for this committee. It was noted that some members did not want compensation. Council Member Lyden suggested that two (2) members of the Planning and Zoning Board become members of the Environmental Committee. Council Member Kuether was not in favor of this suggestion because she wanted as many residents as possible to participate in City government. PAGE 1
