• <br />COUNCIL MINUTES JULY 28, 1997 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />MINUTES <br />DATE : July 28, 1997 <br />TIME STARTED : 6:35 P.M. <br />TIME ENDED : 10:50 P.M. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT : Bergeson, Kuether, Landers, Lyden, Neal <br />MEMBERS ABSENT : None. <br />Staff members present: City Administrator, Randy Schumacher; City Attorney, Bill Hawkins; <br />Community Development Director, Brian Wessel; City Engineer, David Ahrens; Consulting <br />Engineer, David Hahn; Planning Coordinator, Mary Kay Wyland; Planning Consultant, Al <br />Brixius; Community Service Officer, Jeanie Kenow; and Clerk -Treasurer, Marilyn Anderson. <br />The agenda was approved as presented. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Council Member Kuether moved to approve the consent agenda. Council Member Neal <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />ITEM <br />MINUTES, July 14, 1997 <br />DISBURSEMENTS: <br />ACTION <br />Approved <br />July 28, 1997 Approved <br />($379,195.20, Check Nos. 48237 - 4835 1) <br />Centennial Fire District <br />(July 15, 1997) Approved <br />OPEN MIKE <br />No one appeared under Open Mile. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT, NATIONAL NIGHT OUT, AUGUST 5, 1997, COMMUNITY <br />SERVICE OFFICER, JEANIE KENOW <br />Ms. Kenow explained that National Night Out was designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, <br />generate support and participation in local anti crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community <br />relations and send a message to criminals letting them know their neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. <br />Residents lock their doors, turn on their outside lights from 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. and get together with their <br />neighbors. National Night Out is for all neighborhoods and businesses in Lino Lakes, not just established <br />Neighborhood Watch groups. Staff requested that Council acknowledge and read the Proclamation in support of <br />designating August 5, 1997 as National Night Out in the City of Lino Lakes. <br />1 <br />
