•
COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 12, 1998
The purpose for using an off-site service was to free time for the Planning Coordinator to deal
with landowner requests and work with consultants developing the Comprehensive Land Use
Plan for the City. Beginning in January, 1997, TimeSaver began providing minute transcription
service for the City Council and the Charter Commission, and beginning this month for the Parks
and Recreation Board.
Ms. Anderson expressed her satisfaction with the quality of the Council minutes, and the Charter
Commission has also expressed the same sentiment. Mary Kay Wyland of the Planning
Department is also pleased with the quality of the Planning and Zoning Board minutes. Besides
providing quality service, minutes are completed in a timely manner so that they can be approved
at the next regular meeting of the Council, Board or Commission.
Presented for Council's consideration was an addendum to the Recording Secretarial Service
Agreement, which includes service for the City Council, Planning and Zoning Board, Parks and
Recreation Board, and the Charter Commission extending the contract period to December 31,
1998. The fees remain the same as for 1997. City Attorney Hawkins has reviewed the
Addendum and advised Ms. Anderson that it is in order and can be adopted as presented.
Council Member Bergeson moved to approve the Addendum to the Recording Secretarial
Service Agreement, as presented. Council member Dahl seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS - None.
NEW BUSINESS
Review of City Calendar - Mayor Sullivan reminded the group that on January 13, 1998 there
will be a special primary election for the seat of State Representative, with the general election
on January 27. She added that the next Planning and Zoning Board meeting is scheduled for
Wednesday, January 14, at 6:30 p.m.; the next Council work session, Wednesday, January 21;
next Council meeting, Monday, January 26.
Council Member Lyden congratulated Council Members Bergeson and Dahl, as well as Mayor
Sullivan, on their recent election, adding that he considers it a privilege and honor to serve the
people of Lino Lakes and that he looks forward to the next two years.
ADJOURN
Council Member Bergeson moved to adjourn at 7:38 p.m. Council Member Dahl seconded the
motion. Motion carried unanimously.
These minutes were considered and approved at the regular Council Meeting, January 26, 1998.
