COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 21, 1998 <br />Brain presented a schematic report of the Village. He was asked to prepare a "tick" list <br />noting the questions most asked about the project. Brian and Mary Alice Divine will <br />attend the next work session and present details on the plan. <br />Land Swap - The land swap between the City and Anoka County for the property on <br />which the civic buildings will be constructed is "on -track". The Metropolitan Council, <br />owner of the parcel to be swapped to Lino Lakes, is expected to take final action on <br />February 12, 1998. <br />The property that will be swapped to Anoka County for the civic center site. Currently the <br />land that the City will swap is owned by Ed Vaughan. The City is taking title to the <br />property through an eminent domain proceeding. This action will be completed on <br />February 18, 1998. Mr. Vaughan has agreed that this is the best use of the land. The issue <br />of compensation for the land has not been decided. It is expected that by the d of <br />February, the civic center site will belong to the City. <br />The civic center site needs MUSA before construction can\proceed. Paula would like to delay action on this matter to allow her to prepare a <br />response to the meeting. Paula will bring this item to the City Council on February 9th. <br />Each Council Member gave their input as to how the CDBG funds should be used: <br />- Andy was very specific as follows: <br />ACCAP $3,000 <br />Alexandra House $3,000 <br />ARC $ 500 <br />CEAP $1,000 <br />FLYSB $5,000 <br />Meals on Wheels $2,000 <br />RISE - $1,500 <br />PAGE 4 <br />• <br />• <br />
