0 <br />COUNCIL MINUTES JULY 12,1999 <br />authorizing the sale of Lot 15, Block 2, Carole's Estates 2nd Addition to the Blaine American <br />Legion for $50,000 plus any applicable assessments. <br />Mayor Sullivan noted her support of the Legion Club. She also noted that she is not in support of <br />the additional discount of $10,000 because that property was to be sold to pay debts for the Town <br />Center. <br />Council Member Lyden moved to approve the FJRST READING of Ordinance No. 19 - 99, as <br />presented. Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried with Council Member <br />Bergeson and Mayor Sullivan voting no. <br />PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT, DAVE PECCHIA <br />Consideration of Hiring Records Clerk - The 1999 Police Department budget contained <br />funding to make the part-time clerical position a full-time position effective July 1, 1999. The <br />part-time clerical person resigned on July 23, 1999, leaving a vacancy in the clerical division. <br />Applications for the full-time clerical position were received and i <br />Ms. Hawkinson is the successful candidate. The Department of Justice has denied the Police Department's <br />request. <br />Staff requested that the City accept the grant funds to hire the two (2) Law Enforcement Officers <br />through this program. <br />Council Member Dahl moved to accept the grant funds to hire (2) Law Enforcement Officers <br />through this program.
