CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 19, 2000 <br />Mr. Jensen added it is a City decision whether or not the project should move forward. <br />Mr. Michael Vincent, Real Estate Developer, came forward and distributed information <br />about the facility. He referred to an aerial view of the proposed stadium. He advised Mr. <br />Babacus is putting together an application to begin the process. <br />Mr. Vincent continued stating the facility will be built in Lino Lakes or in three (3) other <br />possible communities. An option was picked up in another City to purchase property. He <br />stated the Lino Lakes location is a good natural site for the project. He added Mr. <br />Babacus wants the project to be positive for all those involved. <br />Mr. Vincent stated he would continue to provide information to the City. He referred to <br />the map of the site and noted they want the facility as close to 35E as possible. <br />Staff advised they will continue to work with Mr. Babacus and an update will be given at <br />every Council work session. <br />Council requested staff to prepare an outline of all the ste go through for <br />the project to move forward. She noted she has a section that <br />the Planning and Zoning Board members do not have. She advised she would be asking <br />staff for more information. She added she believes the numbers in the plan will be easier <br />to determine that the mechanism needed to reach those numbers. <br />Council directed the City Administrator to poll Council Members for available dates to <br />schedule a special work session to address the Plan. Appropriate staff and the Chair of <br />the Task Force should also be included. <br />Council Member Carlson stated taxes are an issue also. She requested Mr. Shannon <br />review that issue. <br />2 <br />
