CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION FEBRUARY 23, 2000 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />WORK SESSION MINUTES <br />DATE : February 23, 2000 <br />TIME STARTED : 5:30 p.m. <br />TIME ENDED : 7:02 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT : Council Member Carlson and Mayor <br />Bergeson <br />MEMBERS ABSENT : None <br />Staff members present: City Administrator, Linda Waite Smith; Administration <br />Director, Dan Tesch; City Engineer, John Powell; City Planner, Jeff Smyser; Community <br />Development Director, Brian Wessel; Economic Development Assistant, Mary Alice <br />Divine (part); Public Services Director, Rick DeGardner; Chief of P ave Pecchia; <br />and Sergeant Bill Hammes (part) <br />SPECIAL COUNCIL WORK SESSION MAYOR B <br />Mayor Bergeson advised a special Council wor i • bee scheduled for Monday, <br />February 28, 2000, 5:30 p.m., to update the a <br />COMPLIANCE CHECKS, DAVE <br />Staff advised compliance c ` be onducted regarding alcohol and tobacco <br />sales throughout the Ci s revealed a widespread failure to comply with the <br />law. The Police D - * art step ing up random compliance checks and will continue <br />them until full co °' e et. <br />Staff requested Cou 1 set a policy regarding penalties to license holders who do not <br />comply. Action cannot be taken until the license holder is convicted. All license holders <br />have been advised of the random compliance checks. <br />ANNUAL POLICE REPORT, BILL HAMMES <br />Staff advised a presentation of the Annual Police Report will be given on Monday, <br />February 28, 2000. The presentation will take approximately twenty minutes. Staff <br />distributed a copy of the report. Staff advised they will answer any questions relating to <br />the report before the Council meeting. <br />STADIUM UPDATE, BRIAN WESSEL/JEFF SMYSER <br />Staff advised Mr. Babacas was quoted in the newspaper indicating a land deal will be <br />signed on March 10, 2000, and ground breaking for the project will occur in June, 2000. <br />1 <br />
