The resolutio s i � to specific Metropolitan Council Members per the <br />recommendation of Representativ <br />OPEN MIKE <br />No one was present fo <br />Consider Resolution N 2000 — 29, Supporting DNR Collaboration "Integrating Natural <br />Resource Guidance to Enhance Smart Growth in Wildland-Urban Interface Communities" (3/4 <br />Vote Required), Marty Asleson — Staff advised the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has <br />matched funds with the US Forest to implement a program called "Integrating Natural Resource <br />Guidance to Enhance Smart Growth in Wildland Urban Interface Communities". There is a total of <br />$105,000 to be used for working with one or two (2) local units of government. There are two (2) <br />units of government that have been approached. These cities are the City of Lino Lakes and the City <br />of Hugo. <br />The purpose of this project is to work collaboratively with the two -(2) units of government to develop <br />land development and management tools, which better incorporate natural resource conservation <br />goals. Natural resource assessment and policy/plans will be addressed at the "landscaping scale", <br />covering the whole jurisdiction of the cities. A component of the program that has to do with <br />subdivision design will be a part for one city. <br />
