• <br />• <br />• <br />COUNCIL MINUTES MARCH 13, 2000 <br />The City requesting assistance will reimburse the City(s) who provides assistance for all costs and <br />expenses incurred. The receiving City also agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the sending <br />City(s), its officers, agents, and employees against any and all costs, damages, and claims arising from <br />any negligent act of the sending City(s) employee. <br />Staff advised the City Attorney has reviewed the agreement. <br />Council Member O'Donnell moved to approve the Mutual Aid Agreement, as presented. Council <br />Member Carlson seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Consideration of Receiving Bids and Awarding Playground Equipment, Brandywood Park (3/4 <br />Vote Required), Rick DeGardner — Staff advised on Friday, March 3, 2000, bids were opened for <br />the Brandywood playground equipment project. Five (5) proposals were submitted. The playground <br />equipment proposals were on display at City Hall the week of March 6, 2000. Neighborhood <br />residents and Park Board Members were invited to review the proposals, make comments, and <br />provide input on the selection of playground equipment. <br />Staff advised they believe the Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground, <br />the best package of playground equipment for Brandywood Par <br />based on a number of factors including equipment quality, s <br />play experience provided, and installation experience. <br />City of Lino Lakes <br />nt evaluations were <br />ions, aesthetic appeal, the <br />Staff advised they met with interested residents p ights Council meeting to make final <br />decisions such as color selection. <br />It is anticipated to install the play •_• engin May — July, 2000, with area residents, a <br />certified playground installer, ainte ance staff. <br />Council Member O'D 11 d if Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground, Inc. has done work for the <br />City before. Staff advi 'c pany has worked with the City of Lino Lakes several times in the <br />past few years and has v'ry successful. <br />Council Member O'Donnell moved to award the Brandywood Playground project to <br />Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground, Inc., in the amount of $27,000. Council Member Dahl seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 00 — 25, Accepting Lino Lakes Lions Club Donation for Kite <br />Day (3/4 Vote Required), Rick DeGardner — Staff advised the Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation <br />Department will be holding its fifth Kite Day event on Saturday, June 3, 2000, at Rice Lake <br />Elementary School. This event is free to children in the Quad City area. It is great fun to see the <br />children and their families assemble the kits and fly them. What a wonderful sight to see. <br />When the Parks and Recreation Department was unable to obtain kits from a vendor last year, Lino <br />Lakes Lions Club, as a program sponsor, donated $300 to help defer the cost of this event. The Lino <br />Lakes Lions Club has made a $300 donation to the Kite Day Program again this year. <br />7 <br />
