COUNCIL MINUTES MARCH 27, 2000 <br />Consider Approval of 2000 Tobacco Licenses (3/5 Vote Required), Ry-Chel Gaustad — Staff <br />advised that in accordance with the City code, the City processes annual applications for tobacco <br />licenses. The City received year 2000 tobacco license applications from the following tobacco license <br />holders: <br />Lino Lakes Liquor <br />J & K Liquor, Inc. <br />49 Club <br />Anoka County Parks <br />Chomonix Golf Course <br />Tom Thumb <br />Oasis Market #557 <br />VFW Post 6583 <br />Millers on Main <br />Shirley Kay's <br />7860 Lake Drive <br />6013 Hodgson Road <br />6007 Hodgson Road <br />646 Sandpiper Drive <br />7997 Lake Drive <br />7509 Lake Drive <br />7868 Lake Drive <br />8001 Main Street <br />6810 Lake Drive <br />Staff advised the annual tobacco license fee increased from $12.00 to <br />the Police Department to conduct compliance checks on all licens <br />checks are yet to be conducted. <br />cause State mandates <br />2000 compliance <br />Council Member O'Donnell asked if the compliance ch i ung sure employees ask for <br />identification from minors. <br />Staff advised compliance checks include t <br />accessible to the employee. <br />ors and making sure tobacco is only <br />ter,= <br />Council Member Reinert mov.• :3 ve th=" Tobacco Licenses, as presented. Council Member <br />Dahl seconded the motion. �.• �3 c'� d unanimously. <br />PUBLIC SAFETY D NT REPORT, DAVE PECCHIA <br />Consideration of Resol ion No. 00 — 38, City Council Supports the Application of the Anoka <br />County Joint Law Enforcement Council for a Grant to Provide Access to Police Records From <br />Squad Cars (3/5 Vote Required), Chief Pecchia — Staff advised the Law Enforcement agencies of <br />Anoka County have pooled resources to provide a County -wide Records system. The Law <br />Enforcement agencies would like to extend this records system to include access of the records to law <br />enforcement officers from their police cars. <br />The Anoka County Attorney's Office has completed the necessary paperwork for a grant request to <br />provide 50% funding for the research and implementation of a system to transmit the information to <br />the police cars. <br />Resolution No. 00 — 38 is to support the grant application of the Anoka County Joint Law <br />Enforcement Council for a grant to provide access to police records from squad cars. <br />4 <br />
