CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION APRIL 5, 2000 <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE, JEFF SMYSER <br />Staff advised a special Council work session has been scheduled for Saturday, April 8, <br />2000, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., to discuss the proposed Comprehensive Plan. Staff <br />members will not be present at the meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to determine if <br />all Council Members agree on the vision in the Plan. <br />Council Member Reinert requested information regarding low, medium, and high-density <br />acreage for the years 2000-2010. <br />Council Member Carlson requested information regarding areas that are changing density. <br />She asked for the current density and what they will be changed to. <br />515 LILAC STREET ASSESSMENT APPEAL, JOHN POWELL <br />Staff distributed a background sheet regarding special assessment consideration for <br />property located at 515 Lilac Street. Staff reviewed the informatio .1 noting that <br />the septic system on that property has failed. <br />The property is currently zoned Rural and is outside the ewer, the <br />Metropolitan Council allows properties with failing to ect if sewer is <br />available. Utilities were installed in this area t e o as part of the Lilac Street <br />Utility Extension project. However, this resolution applies to properties abutting utilities <br />that were extended to serve new subdivisions. <br />Staff recommended this property be treated in accordance with Resolution No. 98 — 179, <br />in order to expedite connection to City utilities and eliminate the current public health <br />hazard. <br />It was the consensus of Council to have staff proceed and the property be treated in <br />accordance with Resolution No. 98 — 179. <br />2 <br />
