CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION APRIL 5, 2000 <br />TOWN CENTER DESIGN STANDARDS, JEFF SMYSER <br />Staff advised Council Members have received a copy of the public hearing draft dated <br />March 30, 2000. The Planning and Zoning Board has had five (5) special meetings <br />regarding the design standards. Staff has discussed the standards with the CEPTED <br />Officer and landowners. Staff noted landowners have also received a copy of the draft. <br />A special Council meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 12, 2000, 5:30 p.m., <br />to discuss the design standards with the Planning and Zoning Board. A public hearing <br />will be held at the Planning and Zoning Board meeting immediately following the special <br />meeting. When the Planning and Zoning Board is comfortable with the design standards, <br />it will come before Council for action. Meetings with the other <br />landowners will be held next week. The intent of the meeting is to address their concerns <br />regarding land use. Staff will be putting together a list of options to move forward. The <br />options will be discussed at the April 19, 2000, Council work session. <br />Staff advised they would recognize the requests from homeowners and then look at <br />various options for actual development and priorities. Staff will request Council direction <br />regarding the projects and how to proceed. <br />Staff added the final market study from Gibbs has been received. <br />3 <br />
