• <br />Minutes <br />Joint Meeting of Lino Lakes City Council <br />And Shoreview City Council <br />October 2, 2000 5:30 p.m. <br />Shoreview City Hall <br />Present: From Shoreview: Mayor Sandy Martin, Council Members Mady Reiter, Ady <br />Wickstrom, Blake Huffman, Tom Landwehr, Public Works Director Mark Maloney, City <br />Manager Terry Schwerm. From Lino Lakes: Mayor John Bergeson, Council Members <br />Donna Carlson, Caroline Dahl, Jeff O'Donnell, Jeff Reinert, City Engineer John Powell, <br />City Administrator Linda Waite Smith. <br />Mayor Martin opened the meeting and welcomed the Lino Lakes City Council. She <br />noted the meeting had been requested by Lino Lakes to discuss proposed reconstruction <br />of CSAH 49. <br />Mayor Bergeson explained that Lino Lakes residents who <br />reconstruction plans oppose the concept of a four -lane dj <br />Council had heard that Ramsey County's plans for the <br />very different from Anoka County's plans. 'Q` hat • espite statements in Olson's letter to Lino Lakes, it <br />is not a given that Ry will reconstruct its section of CSAH 49 to five lanes. <br />Council Member Reite • e s that she and others have sought a traffic signal at <br />Chippewa Middle Scho • ince 1996. <br />Terry Schwerm explained that the Shoreview City Council will meet with Ramsey <br />County representatives next week. <br />Mayor Martin said Shoreview hasn't yet seen reasons to change CSAH 49 significantly, <br />except at the intersection with County Road J. <br />Council Member Reinert stated that during a presentation to Lino Lakes, Olson stated <br />CSAH 49 would eventually be four lanes from 694 to 35W. <br />Council Member Reiter noted that it has been stated that having four lanes from 694 to <br />35W is an alternative to fixing the bottlenecks and congestion on the freeways. <br />
