Council Member Landwehr expressed concern that large scale traffic problems are being <br />pushed on to the counties which in turn push them on to the cities. <br />Council Member Wickstrom stated the cities have a need to get residents from their <br />homes to the freeways. She asked if there were any plans to improve County Road J to <br />35E. <br />Engineer Powell explained that doesn't seem to be a high priority for either Ramsey or <br />Anoka County. <br />Council Member Landwehr said incremental steps to address the problem are not being <br />taken. <br />Council Member Huffman asked if the Lino Lakes Council opposes Anoka County's <br />plans. <br />Mayor Bergeson responded that his view is a minority view. A <br />overkill, but he is concerned about safety of the public. H <br />both safe and acceptable to nearby residents. <br />Mayor Martin noted that this piece of CSAH 49 is <br />a need to fix the freeways and ease congestion <br />smoother. She said she is not certain who t <br />lan seemed like <br />a design that is <br />m bigger puzzle. There is <br />raffle through the city <br />t step. <br />Council Member Landwehr stated the .. o ould be to fix the 694 bridge. Other <br />improvements should be delayed unti , �� the bridge has been improved. <br />Council Member Reiter suggest <br />for contiguous striping of <br />earlier than initially plann <br />ity Councils could do two things: first, ask <br />J. Second, push to get the 694 bridge redone <br />Mayor Bergeson said should be to contact the counties and urge them to <br />coordinate design plan schedules. <br />City Manager Schwerm stated CSAH 49 appears to function well as a two-lane road most <br />of the time, except for people passing on the shoulders and bottlenecks at County Road J <br />and the 694 bridge. <br />Council Member Huffman asked what it would take to get a traffic signal at County Road <br />J. <br />Mayor Martin asked Engineer Powell if Anoka County has enough right of way at <br />County Road J to add turn lanes there if a signal is installed. <br />Engineer Powell replied that he doesn't believe the intersection would need to be <br />widened beyond what is currently available. <br />
