'° map was distributed pointing out the particular site. Staff ad looking into the possibility of acquiring that property and buff property. However, there is a purchase agreement on the property. The pro. ' ;.+per is committed to making a decision about the site in mid February 2001. .f dvised they have talked to the developer about the property and have explained t significance of the site. This issue was brought to the Environmental Board for review. There is an acquisition grant that the City can apply for to purchase the property. Mr. Scott Lanyon, Chair of the Environmental Board, stated the Board would like to be proactive and bring this issue before the City Council. The property would be an incredible asset to the City. Staff distributed a letter from Mr. Alan Singer, Coordinator of Metro Greenways, and a map of the current planning grant. The letter included information regarding the submittal of the grant request. Council directed staff to apply for any grants that are appropriate for the purchase of the property and to keep the Council informed of the status.
