'° map was distributed pointing out the <br />particular site. Staff ad looking into the possibility of acquiring that <br />property and buff property. However, there is a purchase agreement on the <br />property. The pro. ' ;.+per is committed to making a decision about the site in <br />mid February 2001. .f dvised they have talked to the developer about the property <br />and have explained t significance of the site. This issue was brought to the <br />Environmental Board for review. There is an acquisition grant that the City can apply for <br />to purchase the property. <br />Mr. Scott Lanyon, Chair of the Environmental Board, stated the Board would like to be <br />proactive and bring this issue before the City Council. The property would be an <br />incredible asset to the City. <br />Staff distributed a letter from Mr. Alan Singer, Coordinator of Metro Greenways, and a <br />map of the current planning grant. The letter included information regarding the <br />submittal of the grant request. <br />Council directed staff to apply for any grants that are appropriate for the purchase of the <br />property and to keep the Council informed of the status. <br />
