COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 8, 2001 Council Member Dahl indicated she would support the request. She stated she has a pole barn. Other types of structures would stick out in this neighborhood. There are also other pole barns in the area. She stated she did not get information in her packet regarding the Rice Creek Watershed District's opinion on the soil. Mr. Lyden is accommodating the City and the City should meet him half way. She indicated she does want an answer about how many other parcels there are in the City relating to a precedence being set. Council Member Reinert stated he had hoped an agreement on the siding could be met. He indicated he would allow the variance if that happens. He stated he also agrees that a structure to store the boat is better for the neighbors. Mayor Bergeson stated that if he had written the ordinance, everyone would have a pole barn. He advised Mr. Lyden he can withdraw the application temporarily or move ahead. Mr. Lyden indicated he is agreeable to tabling the request if the Council is receptive to discussions to explore further middle ground.
