COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 22, 2001 Council Member Carlson stated an alternate does not have to be named if the City Attorney is available to perform these duties. Council Member Carlson moved to adopt Resolution No. 00 —100, designating the City Clerk, Ry- Chel Gaustad, as the data practices compliance official. Council Member Dahl seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Resolution No. 00 —100 can be found in the City Clerk's office. Consideration of Hiring General Maintenance Worker — Water/Sewer Department — Staff advised the 2001 Water and Sewer Operating Fund Budgets include the provision to create an additional General Maintenance position. The Utilities Department consists of a Utilities Supervisor and a maintenance worker. The existing maintenance worker position was authorized in January 1995. Since that time the City has experienced tremendous growth, which has increased the duties and responsibilities of this department. The additional maintenance position included in the 2001 budget, will with the typical day to day operations, but will accelerate the impl system and water meter changeout program that was approved provide assistance the Phone Read cil in 1999. Staff recommended Mr. Timothy Budig be considered f e n aintenance-Utilities position. Mr. Budig has worked for the City of Lino Lakes t ) years in the Utilities Department. Staff noted Mr. Budig has successfully passed the physical examination and drug test. Council Member Reinert moved to approve the hiring of Mr. Timothy Budig as General Maintenance -Utilities worker. Council Member O'Donnell seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Annual Appointments (Council Prerogative) (3/5 Vote Required), Dan Tesch — Staff advised each year, the Council appoints individuals to various boards, commissions and assignments.
