COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 22, 2001 <br />Council Member Carlson stated an alternate does not have to be named if the City Attorney is <br />available to perform these duties. <br />Council Member Carlson moved to adopt Resolution No. 00 —100, designating the City Clerk, Ry- <br />Chel Gaustad, as the data practices compliance official. Council Member Dahl seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 00 —100 can be found in the City Clerk's office. <br />Consideration of Hiring General Maintenance Worker — Water/Sewer Department — Staff <br />advised the 2001 Water and Sewer Operating Fund Budgets include the provision to create an <br />additional General Maintenance position. The Utilities Department consists of a Utilities Supervisor <br />and a maintenance worker. The existing maintenance worker position was authorized in January <br />1995. Since that time the City has experienced tremendous growth, which has increased the duties <br />and responsibilities of this department. <br />The additional maintenance position included in the 2001 budget, will <br />with the typical day to day operations, but will accelerate the impl <br />system and water meter changeout program that was approved <br />provide assistance <br />the Phone Read <br />cil in 1999. <br />Staff recommended Mr. Timothy Budig be considered f e n aintenance-Utilities position. <br />Mr. Budig has worked for the City of Lino Lakes t ) years in the Utilities Department. <br />Mr. Hillesheim and Mr. Payne has spent consider educating and showing Mr. Budig the <br />various aspects of the City's operations. r x:y' as demonstrated his hard work ethic and <br />his ability to interact with the general <br />Mr. Budig has successfully p. _�_ t "'��'�uire tests for his Water Operator license, Collection <br />Systems License, and Low <br />Mr. Budig is available, uary 23, 2001. Mr. Budig's beginning salary is $15.93 per hour <br />plus benefits. This pos 1 be funded by the Water and Sewer Enterprise Funds. This position <br />will be eligible for mem ` rship in the 49er's Union. Staff noted Mr. Budig has successfully passed <br />the physical examination and drug test. <br />Council Member Reinert moved to approve the hiring of Mr. Timothy Budig as General <br />Maintenance -Utilities worker. Council Member O'Donnell seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Annual Appointments (Council Prerogative) (3/5 Vote Required), Dan Tesch — Staff advised <br />each year, the Council appoints individuals to various boards, commissions and assignments.
