CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MARCH 21, 2001 <br />City Engineer Powell advised the City is already collecting a sufficient fee for <br />institutional users. Therefore, an institutional rate is not recommended. A flat fee for <br />sewer users only is recommended. The proposal includes an increase in the flat fee in the <br />amount of $1.00 for year 2002 and $1.00 for year 2003. <br />Acting Mayor Dahl stated she received a call from a resident who indicated their bill <br />increased from $98 to $125. She asked if the rates have already been increased. <br />City Engineer Powell advised the rates have not been increased. The resident may have a <br />leak in the system somewhere. <br />Council Member O'Donnell stated the proposed rate does give low users a break. He <br />indicated he would support the proposed rate. <br />Council Member Reinert stated he could support the sewer rate. He indicated he would distribute copies a to s before the end of <br />the meeting. <br />TOWN CENTER UPDATE, BRIA <br />Design Standards, Mary Ali <br />e co omic Development Assistant Divine gave <br />a slide presentation regar ign ``andards highlighting how the standards deal <br />with specific land uses. <br />Economic Develoant Divine advised a presentation regarding the residential <br />area of the Design <br />s will be given at the next work session. <br />City Administrator Waite Smith inquired about snow removal when there is parking on <br />both sides of the street within this type of development. Economic Development <br />Assistant Divine advised the snow removal must be planned for and dealt with in the <br />development plan. <br />YMCA Update, Mary Alice Divine Economic Development Assistant Divine advised <br />the Friday update included information regarding the YMCA Facilities Committee <br />meeting. The YMCA has determined the City site is the preferred site to locate the <br />facility. There is a meeting this Friday with a National Facility Expert. It has not yet <br />been determined if the seven -(7) acre site will work. The site plan must be completed <br />before a determination can be made. Mr. Daryl Silverness is leaving April 6, 2001.
