CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION APRIL 18, 2001 • SCHEDULE UPCOMING MEETINGS, LINDA WAITE SMITH City Administrator Waite Smith asked if the following meetings can be scheduled: Meeting with Department Heads — May 2, 2001, 5:30 p.m. Finance Session Meeting — May 16, 2001, 5:30 p.m. Interview Community Development Director Candidates—April 25,2001,5:30 p.m. Comprehensive Plan Meeting — May 5, 7:00 — 10:00 a.m. Council directed staff to schedule the above meetings. Council Member Carlson noted the City has not yet scheduled a meeting with the City of Centerville. Mayor Bergeson advised he supports the process the City Administrator used to select a candidate. The proof of the process is the result. Council Member Dahl explained her reasons for wanting to be more involved noting she would have liked to have updates. She stated it had nothing to do with trust, she just wanted to be more involved with the selection. Council Member Carlson stated her concern related to the Council interviewing only one candidate. She referred to the City Charter and City Ordinance relating to this issue. She stated she believes the Council should have more than one candidate to approve.
