CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JUNE 6, 2001 <br />SCHOOL GRANT FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, DAVE PECCHIA <br />Chief Pecchia distributed a draft survey and cover letter that will be sent to residents <br />regarding community policing. He asked Council Members to make comments and <br />return it to him early next week. <br />Chief Pecchia advised the Police Department is requesting approval from the Council to <br />apply for a "COPS in Schools Grant" to enter into a partnership with the Centennial <br />School District, specifically in Rice Lake Elementary School. The purpose of the grant is <br />to work toward making Rice Lake Elementary one of the safest school in the nation. <br />Both parties agree to foster positive interaction between school staff, police department <br />employees and the children the City serves.
