CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JUNE 6, 2001 <br />Council Member O'Donnell asked if the County will need additional right-of-way. City <br />Engineer Powell stated the County may ask the City to acquire easements for some of the <br />roadway features. <br />Council Member Reinert stated the City still has the same problem that the roadway is <br />encroaching on residents. City Engineer Powell advised the residents will determine <br />what is important to them relating to the design of the roadway. <br />Council Member Reinert stated the City is making progress but should continue to work <br />on the north end of the roadway. <br />Council Member Carlson stated this has gone on for a year. She would like to see <br />progress made for the citizens. <br />Ms. Lynn Heaser, resident of Lino Lakes, stated that at the State C <br />indicated the entire roadway can go to a 45 -mph speed limit. He noted the Environmental Board did get the environmental <br />worksheet. <br />Council Member O'Donnell asked how the City can avoid situations with too many <br />stoplights backing up traffic on a roadway. City Engineer Powell advised stop lights will <br />be counterproductive on Lake Drive. There is no way to avoid signal lights on this type <br />of roadway. <br />5 <br />
