CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JUNE 19, 2001 <br />ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD UPDATE, SCOTT LANYON <br />Mr. Scott Lanyon, Chair of the Environmental Board, gave the background of the <br />development of the Board and the philosophies of the Board. He presented and reviewed <br />the 2001 Goals of the Environmental Board noting the importance of developing a <br />conservation development ordinance for the City. <br />Mr. Lanyon stated it is the consensus of the Board that they are not helping the City of <br />Lino Lakes as much as they would like to. He asked for feedback and suggestions to the <br />2001 Goals from the Council. <br />Mayor Bergeson stated the Environmental Board is a relatively new board. The Council <br />welcomes more discussions with the Board. <br />Council Member Reinert asked if the Environmental Board has their concerns <br />with the Planning and Zoning Board. <br />Mr. Lanyon stated he has discussed the issue informall <br />Zoning Board Members. He stated the Environme tal <br />recommendations have been a big part of the P1 <br />f the Planning and <br />s not feel that its <br />Zo ` ing Board's discussions. <br />Council Member Dahl noted that issue was 'sed a he last Planning and Zoning Board <br />meeting. <br />Mr. Lanyon stated the Board want e environment is a part of every <br />discussion and project. More e � n i� eded relating to this issue. <br />Council Member O' Don d i` e Environmental Board will be reviewing and <br />making a recommendation orae EAW. <br />Mr. Lanyon stated the : .tt ill be reviewing the EAW but they do need adequate time <br />to comments and make '` ,� ommendations. He noted one of the 2001 Goals includes <br />educating the citizens of Lino Lakes about the environment. <br />This item will appear on the regular Council agenda Monday, June 25, 2001, 6:30 p.m. <br />MOLIN CONCRETE UPDATE, JEFF SMYSER <br />City Planner Smyser stated he conferred with Mr. Brixius regarding issues that were <br />raised at the last Council work session. Mr. Brixius believes it was the intent to have <br />both a berm and trees when the project was approved. However, the trees will not help <br />the noise issues. The beeper restriction was intended to apply to the northern portion (20 <br />acres) of the site only. Molin is addressing the issue of the variance of the beeper with <br />OSHA. A letter was draft by City staff and will be sent tomorrow. He indicated the City <br />is making progress on this issue. <br />4 <br />
