CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JUNE 19, 2001 <br />Council Member O'Donnell stated he does not prefer the barricade. He stated the land <br />will be developed eventually. He indicated he is tying the improvements of 62nd Street <br />and West Shadow together. He stated he does not believe he can support the plan until <br />that issue has been resolved. <br />Council Member Dahl stated she is in favor of the cul-de-sac due to safety issues on 62nd <br />Street. She stated is concerned about the MUSA allocation and lack of MUSA in reserve. <br />She stated there are many concerns from residents on both sides of the issue. <br />Council Member Reinert stated the issues are privacy, traffic and wetlands. He stated it <br />makes sense to put the road through but staff has advised it not go through because of the <br />condition of 62nd Street. <br />Mayor Bergeson stated he supports the project. He indicated he did support the barricade <br />idea because it was a compromise. The contract <br />renews effective July 1,0 The new contract agreement is a two -(2) year contract for <br />the period of July 1, 200`;. to July 1, 2003. The other changes include an increase in <br />insurance coverage and service fees.
