CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JUNE 19, 2001 <br />Mr. Rick Carlson, Developer of West Shadow Ponds, advised he has an agreement with <br />Mr. Rehbein relating to a one -acre lot and locating his sewer system. He stated he will <br />stub the property. <br />Council Member Dahl asked what happened to the cul-de-sac. City Planner Smyser <br />stated a barricade will prevent traffic from going through until 62nd Street is improved <br />and a temporary cul-de-sac is included. <br />Council Member O'Donnell asked if there are any homes in the pipeline that will utilize <br />West Shadow. City Planner Smyser indicated there a few homes that will use West <br />Shadow. However, there are wetlands, farmland and a City park in that area. <br />Council Member Dahl asked if the developer has worked with the neighbors on the trail <br />and screening. Traffic routing can be a condition of approval but it is difficult <br />to enforce. He added he would prefer the construction traffic be on 62nd Street as it <br />would be reconstructed shortly afterwards. <br />Other residents present expressed support for the project but indicated they would prefer <br />the roadway go through to 62nd Street. It was noted that the City will have the same <br />problem when they try to take the barricade down at some point in the future. <br />Mayor Bergeson stated the City may want to consider a disclosure requirement regarding <br />the removal of the barricade to new homeowners. <br />6 <br />
