The primary concern is pedestrian <br />traffic on 62nd Street. The City should proceed with the reconstruction of 62nd Street as <br />soon as possible. A compromise is to develop a trail on 62nd Street until it is <br />reconstructed. The cul-de-sac option was a compromise from the Planning and Zoning <br />Board. He indicated he would prefer to extend the roadway right away. <br />Council Member Dahl inquired about the cost of reconstructing 62nd Street. City <br />Engineer Powell advised the cost is approximately $1-2 million dollars per mile. The <br />street is a little less than a mile. Sewer and water would also have to be considered. <br />Assuming a contribution from the developer of about $2,000 per lot, a trail could be <br />constructed. <br />1 <br />
