• <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION AUGUST 8, 2001 <br />Council Member Carlson asked if the design standards will apply to the Tagg property. <br />Economic Development Director Wessel stated the standards will apply to the Tagg <br />property if Ross Fefercorn develops the land. <br />STEVE POSER GARAGE, DONNA CARLSON <br />Mr. Steve Poser, 6180 Ware Road, distributed a packet of information that included a <br />summary regarding his request, photos, letters of support from neighbors and a plot map. <br />He indicated he will be requesting a variance for an accessory building. He gave the <br />history of this issue noting he believed he owned 1 and 1/3 acres. <br />Council Member Carlson stated at one point Mr. Poser was told to go ahead with his plan <br />and he cut down trees. He was then told to stop because he does not have enough land. <br />Mr. Poser is looking for Council direction but understands he must,: • through the <br />Planning and Zoning Board. <br />City Engineer Powell noted at this point there is no a staf tion. <br />Mayor Bergeson stated it is unfortunate that the ap. is t go' impression to go ahead <br />from staff However, all residents have to go thr �-City process to apply for a <br />variance. <br />Mayor Bergeson advised that based on is p that the lot is short, he would <br />support the variance. He would ques • the . +"'ding could come closer to the location <br />requirement. He noted he would •�+t a staff recommendation and <br />recommendation from the P1 ng Board. <br />Council Member Carlson <br />last variance granted. N tated the variance request is worth a shot but there is no <br />guarantee. <br />Council Member Dahl stated she does not have a problem with the variance but would <br />want to see the driveways connected. <br />CENTENNIAL (CIRCLE PINES) GAS FRANCHISE PAYMENT FOR 2001, <br />LINDA WAITE SMITH <br />City Administrator Waite Smith distributed a memo regarding the Circle Pines Utilities <br />Franchise Fee. The memo indicated that staff has suggested the Council may want to <br />consider a cap on the 2001 franchise revenue collected from Centennial customers. <br />
