COUNCIL MINUTES <br />DECEMBER 10, 2001 <br />Consideration of Resolution No. 01-193, Adopting the 2002 Water and Sewer Operating <br />Budgets, Al Rolek — Finance Director Rolek advised the City Council reviewed the proposed 2002 <br />Water and Sewer Operating budgets at their Budget work session held August 24, 2001. Since that <br />time an amendment has been made in the water budget to increase the capital inlay area to make <br />improvements to Well Houses #1 and #2. These improvements will increase th€..ing capacity of <br />these wells by 1,000,000 per day and postpone the need to establish an additional w ruse for <br />several years. The amount of the amendment is $52,000. The water operating is s . ticipated <br />to have a surplus for the 2002 budget year. <br />The proposed revenues for this budget incorporate the utility rate structur <br />Council earlier this year. <br />It has been the practice of the City Council to adopt the Water and <br />resolution. Staff is recommending the City Council adopt Res <br />2002 Water and Sewer Operating Budgets. <br />Mayor Bergeson asked if the new water rates are in effe <br />water rates went into effect April 1, 2001.
