CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION DECEMBER 12, 2001 Councilmember Carlson stated she hopes the County is willing to compromise from the plans they presented last year. Community Development Director Grochala stated staff definitely feels the City has the opportunity to get a plan more consistent with the residents' needs. Councilmember Carlson stated she is very concerned that the County is not negotiating with the residents. Community Development Director Grochala stated the group is deciding what to negotiate and more information is needed before a plan is presented to the County. City Engineer Powell stated the City and residents need to be real' - e indicated he does not necessarily believe the County will compromise their st dards sponse to the residents' plan. He stated the County has to be consistent wi y need to design the road and he is not particularly optimistic. Mr. Arnie Enztel, resident of Lino Lakes, stated that wjat disappointing. The City may have to look at a 40 -mph speed limit and the design standards for that. Councilmember Carlson stated Mr. Olson has consistently indicated they need 100 feet. There has been confusion related to that because it was not -said in the beginning of the process. Mr. Olson also indicated he would take another plan to the County. She stated she wants to see a plan go through and does not want the City or residents to lose the opportunity for input. Staff is doing a good job working with the residents.
