COUNCIL MINUTES APRIL 22, 2002 <br />Proclamation Declaring May 15, 2002 to be Peace Officers' Memorial Day and the Week of <br />May 15 to be "Police Week" in the City of Lino Lakes, Chief Pecchia — Chief Pecchia stated <br />Police Week was designed to recognize the service given by the men and women who, night and day, <br />selflessly stand guard in our communities to safeguard the lives and property of their fellow <br />Americans. On October 1, 1062, President John F. Kennedy, proclaimed May 15 of each year as <br />Peace Officers' Memorial Day and the calendar week of each year during which May 15 occurs as <br />Police Week. <br />Staff is requesting that Council acknowledge and read the proclamation in support of designating May <br />12 to May 18, 2002, as Police Week, and May 15 as Peace Officers' Memorial Day in the City of <br />Lino Lakes. <br />Chief Pecchia read the proclamation and recommended the Council approve it in support of Police <br />Week and Peace Officer's Memorial Day. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell moved to approve the proclamation <br />as Police Week. Councilmember Dahl seconded the motio <br />Councilmember Carlson amended the motion to include <br />Memorial Day in the City of Lino Lakes. <br />ng May 12 to May 18, 2002, <br />al of May 15 as Peace Officers' <br />Councilmember O'Donnell and Councilmember ahl meed to the amendment of the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Bergeson asked Chief Pecchia to <br />Police Officers. <br />PUBLIC SERVICES DEPART P RT, RICK DEGARDNER <br />There was no Public Services ent eport. <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPM T DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />om the Council their personal thanks to all of the <br />Consider Resolution No. 02 — 34, Denying CUP, Bald Eagle Contracting, Jeff Smyser — City <br />Planner Smyser advised Dave Biese of Bald Eagle Construction has submitted an application for a <br />conditional use permit (CUP) for outdoor storage. He wishes to move his construction business to the <br />site and store vehicles outdoors, such as trucks and a construction trailer. <br />The current application does not include a site plan review. Typically, a CUP application such as this <br />would be accompanied by complete site plan information. It is staff's understanding that the <br />applicant wanted to find out if the outdoor storage was possible before committing to designing the <br />building, grading, utilities, and other elements. <br />6 <br />
