COUNCIL MINUTES AUGUST 12, 2002 <br />Councilmember Carlson asked when this project will begin. City Engineer Studenski anticipated the <br />project would begin within one month, after Mr. Boeckman removes his well. <br />Mr. Boeckman stated it was his intent to remove his well after this work is completed. <br />City Engineer Studenski indicated the understanding has been that the well must be removed in order <br />for the project to begin. He stated the City has done all it can to begin the project. <br />Mr. Boeckman noted the well would not actually be removed, rather it would simply be filled. <br />Therefore, he felt whether or not the well is filled, the project will have to go around the well <br />structure itself. City Engineer Studenski indicated the well must be filled and taken out of service in <br />order to work around the pond. He stated if this is not done, then there could potentially be damage to <br />the well or the service line and other additional issues may aris <br />Mr. Boeckman asked if there was any potential for this project t -=d, such as due to a legal <br />appeal of the easement acquisition. City Attorney Hawkins e City has approved the <br />Condemnation Award and has been granted the necessary Ee <br />Mayor Bergeson asked that Mr. Boeckman be provid er indicating the City's assurance that <br />this project will move forward. City Engineer Stu ' rei ated that the project is contingent upon <br />the removal of Mr. Boeckman's well. <br />Councilmember Dahl moved to adopt Resolu No. 02-92, Accepting Quotes and Awarding <br />Contract, Holte Pond. Councilmember C a�. s onded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 02-92 can be four i pity lerk's office. <br />Consideration of Resolutio ' 3, uthorizing Execution of Oak Wilt Grant, Michael <br />Grochala — Community Devel o; ment Director Grochala advised funds to assist communities with <br />the control of oak wilt are availa , e through a grant with the Department of Natural Resources. On <br />June 24, 2002, the City Council authorized Staff to apply for grant funds. The Minnesota Department <br />of Natural Resources has approved the grant request for oak wilt assistance for $5,947.00. <br />Community Development Director Grochala advised City staff recommends the adoption of <br />Resolution No. 02-93, Authorizing the City to accept the 2002 Oak Wilt Grant from the Minnesota <br />Department of Natural Resources. <br />Councilmember Reinert moved to adopt Resolution No. 02-93, Authorizing the City to accept the <br />2002 Oak Wilt Grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Councilmember <br />O'Donnell seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />34 <br />
