• • CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION SEPTEMBER 18, 2002 Councilmember O'Donnell stated he does like the project but believes there should be some kind of road improvements before development occurs. Councilmember Dahl stated she is concerned about the traffic. The City does not have the roads in place to support the development. Ms. Margaret Marier, 6517 Hokah, stated she has talked to several residents in the development area. They have indicated they are not very excited about having a convenience store in the area. Councilmember Dahl stated she is not happy with the gas station because it does not fit in the area. Councilmember Carlson stated she could not support the development without road improvements. Councilmember O'Donnell advised he would review the:tral& study again before a vote is taken. This item will appear on the regular Council agend:Monday, September 23, 2002, 6:30 pm CSAH 49 (HODGSON ROAD) DISCUSSION MICHAEL GROCHALA Community Development Director Gros ala advised the Council had asked at the last meeting if the money is still available: for the project and if the County will build the project if the City agrees to the County's plan. The County Engineer has indicated the dollars for the project are being,identi fied fc other uses. The County Engineer will not recommend to the County Board moving forward with the project even if the City approves the plan with iii&butlined compromises. The bridge and intersection will be constructed in 2005. The"(itywillbe receiving a formal letter regarding this issue from the County. Community Development Director Grochala stated the issue at this point is not the availability of funds. The issue is if the City is committed to getting the project done. Ms. Lynn Heaser, resident of Lino Lakes, stated she believes the County has until December for the turn back funds. Community Development Director Grochala stated there is a specific time limit in which the County has to use the MnDOT turn back funds. Ms. Heaser stated she is supportive of the resolution. She suggested including the details of the project in the resolution.
