• <br />• <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />SEPTEMBER 18, 2002 <br />Councilmember O'Donnell stated he does like the project but believes there should be <br />some kind of road improvements before development occurs. <br />Councilmember Dahl stated she is concerned about the traffic. The City does not have <br />the roads in place to support the development. <br />Ms. Margaret Marier, 6517 Hokah, stated she has talked to several residents in the <br />development area. They have indicated they are not very excited about having a <br />convenience store in the area. <br />Councilmember Dahl stated she is not happy with the gas station because it does not fit in <br />the area. <br />Councilmember Carlson stated she could not support the development without road <br />improvements. <br />Councilmember O'Donnell advised he would review the:tral& study again before a vote <br />is taken. <br />This item will appear on the regular Council agend:Monday, September 23, 2002, 6:30 <br />pm <br />CSAH 49 (HODGSON ROAD) DISCUSSION MICHAEL GROCHALA <br />Community Development Director Gros ala advised the Council had asked at the last <br />meeting if the money is still available: for the project and if the County will build the <br />project if the City agrees to the County's plan. The County Engineer has indicated the <br />dollars for the project are being,identi fied fc other uses. The County Engineer will not <br />recommend to the County Board moving forward with the project even if the City <br />approves the plan with iii&butlined compromises. The bridge and intersection will be <br />constructed in 2005. The"(itywillbe receiving a formal letter regarding this issue from <br />the County. <br />Community Development Director Grochala stated the issue at this point is not the <br />availability of funds. The issue is if the City is committed to getting the project done. <br />Ms. Lynn Heaser, resident of Lino Lakes, stated she believes the County has until <br />December for the turn back funds. <br />Community Development Director Grochala stated there is a specific time limit in which <br />the County has to use the MnDOT turn back funds. <br />Ms. Heaser stated she is supportive of the resolution. She suggested including the details <br />of the project in the resolution. <br />
